Independent marketing second opinion

Ask before you approve the next marketing decision.

Send us the proposal, budget increase, strategy change or contract your agency wants approved. AgencyGuard gives you a written second opinion from someone who does not benefit from the decision.

Two-minute check. No cost, card, call or obligation.

  • Written advice you can refer back to
  • No replacement agency being promoted
  • Commercial and technical context considered
  • Included through the Priority Question Line

The decision gap

The expensive choices arrive before the monthly report.

An agency needs an answer on a new channel, more spend or a longer commitment. You may understand the business case but not the platform assumptions underneath it.

“The campaign is limited by budget”

A platform warning is not a commercial recommendation. The useful question is whether additional budget is likely to produce valuable incremental outcomes at an acceptable cost.

A new strategy comes with a long commitment

Some approaches need time, but the proposal should still define assumptions, milestones, ownership and the evidence that would justify continuing or changing course.

The proposal uses unfamiliar technical language

Complexity can make a reasonable recommendation difficult to judge. A second opinion translates what is being proposed, what must be true for it to work and what is missing.

The agency needs a decision this week

Urgency compresses the time available to investigate. A structured written question helps separate genuine timing constraints from pressure to approve before the evidence is complete.

What we test

The proposal, the evidence and the downside.

A second opinion does not start by assuming the answer is no. It tests whether the recommendation is complete enough for an informed yes.

The commercial objective

What outcome the decision is meant to produce, how that outcome relates to revenue or capacity, and whether the proposed metric is a credible proxy for it.

The evidence supplied

Which account, customer or market facts support the recommendation and whether important context—lead quality, margin, attribution or seasonality—is absent.

Assumptions and dependencies

What needs to be true about tracking, creative, landing pages, sales follow-up, audience size or available conversion data for the proposal to work as described.

Cost and commitment

The full cost beyond media spend, the minimum sensible test period, cancellation or handover terms, and the point at which the decision should be reviewed.

Measurement plan

What will be measured, who owns the data, when results will be evaluated and what would count as evidence to scale, hold or stop.

Alternatives and sequencing

Whether a smaller test, a tracking repair or a current-channel improvement should happen before making the larger commitment.

The written answer

Clear enough to make the decision—or ask for what is missing.

The response is designed for the moment you are in: concise, specific and tied to the material supplied rather than a generic marketing opinion.

A direct view

Whether the recommendation appears supported, unsupported or reasonable subject to named conditions, with the limits of the available evidence stated plainly.

The assumptions that matter

The small number of technical or commercial assumptions most likely to change the answer, separated from details that are interesting but not decisive.

Questions to send back

Specific requests for evidence, ownership, measurement or terms, written so the agency can respond directly and the answer can be evaluated.

A sensible next step

Approve, pause, narrow the test or request more information—along with when the decision should be reviewed again.

Why independent matters

The answer does not create another sale for us.

An adviser who sells implementation may naturally see the problem through the services they provide. AgencyGuard does not manage campaigns or broker a replacement, so we do not earn more if you reject the proposal or leave the agency.

Sometimes the independent answer is that the proposal is sensible and should proceed. Sometimes it is that one missing tracking check or contract term needs resolving first. Either outcome is useful when the reasoning is explicit.

AgencyGuard’s position

  • No commission attached to your decision
  • No preferred agency directory
  • No campaign or website implementation sale
  • Conflicts are disclosed before advice is given

How it works

From uncertainty to a decision you can defend.

You do not need to diagnose the problem before you join. Start with what you already have and we will tell you what is missing.

Send the material

Use the Priority Question Line to describe the decision and attach the proposal, email, screenshot, contract or report that prompted it.

We test the case

A reviewer considers the objective, evidence, assumptions, costs, measurement and alternatives. If a decisive fact is missing, the answer identifies it.

Decide with conditions

Use the written view and agency questions before approving. Keep the answer beside the next report so the original assumptions can be checked against what happened.

Questions

What business owners ask about marketing second opinion.

What can I ask for a second opinion on?

Common examples include budget increases, new channel proposals, campaign strategies, tracking changes, creative retainers, landing-page projects, contract renewals and explanations for a performance decline. The question must relate to your marketing relationship and the information you can supply.

How quickly will I receive an answer?

Response targets depend on your membership: two business days for Monitor, one business day for Protect, and same-business-day treatment for urgent Partner questions submitted within the service conditions. The portal shows the applicable target.

Will you negotiate with my agency?

The standard service is written advice and meeting preparation, not representation or negotiation. Paid meeting attendance may be available separately. You remain in control of the relationship and the final decision.

Is this legal or financial advice on a contract?

No. We can flag commercial or marketing questions in a proposal, but AgencyGuard does not provide legal, financial or investment advice. Obtain a qualified legal review for contractual rights, liabilities or enforceability.
