Independent Facebook and Instagram ads audit

An independent Meta Ads audit that checks real outcomes.

Understand whether your Facebook and Instagram advertising is producing useful customers—not just platform conversions. We review the account, reporting and commercial evidence without selling campaign management.

Two-minute check. No cost, card, call or obligation.

  • Facebook and Instagram advertising covered
  • Reported ROAS tested against business data
  • Creative fatigue and lead quality reviewed
  • No Meta password ever requested

Where Meta reporting misleads

A strong ROAS can coexist with disappointing revenue.

Meta reports what its attribution model can observe. Your business sees what was actually paid, qualified and retained. A useful audit explains the difference between those views.

Attributed revenue is not reconciled with actual sales

View-through conversions, attribution windows and duplicated events can give Meta credit for revenue that other channels influenced. The platform number needs a real-world comparison.

Lead volume rises while quality falls

Instant forms can produce inexpensive submissions with weak intent. Contact rate, qualification rate and eventual sales determine whether the apparent improvement is commercial.

Retargeting claims demand it did not create

People already familiar with the business often convert through retargeting. Without exclusions and a clear prospecting view, the account can overstate incremental acquisition.

Creative fatigue is treated as an algorithm problem

Frequency, spend concentration and declining response often point to an exhausted message or asset. More targeting changes will not repair a campaign with nothing fresh to show.

Meta Ads audit checklist

The checks behind Facebook and Instagram performance.

We connect campaign structure, audiences, creative and tracking to the quality of the enquiries or sales the business can verify.

Campaign objectives and optimisation events

Whether the campaign is optimising for the commercial action intended, how much reliable event volume exists and whether a recent event change explains the performance trend.

Pixel, Conversions API and deduplication

We look for event coverage, browser-and-server duplication risk, event matching limitations and whether the same action can be counted by multiple platforms.

Prospecting, retargeting and exclusions

Audience roles are separated so existing customers and warm users do not make cold acquisition appear cheaper than it is. Overlap and unnecessary fragmentation are also considered.

Creative performance and fatigue

Spend, age, frequency and response trends are reviewed by creative. We look for over-reliance on one winner and whether enough new messages are being tested deliberately.

Placements, devices and budget allocation

We assess where delivery occurred, whether spend follows credible results and whether small ad sets or frequent edits prevent the system from learning anything useful.

Landing page, form and lead quality

The promise in the ad is compared with the destination and form. We then reconcile submissions with contactable, qualified or sold outcomes wherever the evidence allows.

The output

A Meta Ads review your agency can act on.

The report distinguishes a true performance issue from a measurement, creative, offer or lead-handling problem so the next action is aimed at the right part of the system.

Attribution-confidence view

A plain-English assessment of how much reliance to place on Meta’s reported conversions or ROAS and what evidence would strengthen that confidence.

Creative and audience findings

The account areas requiring attention are prioritised, including fatigue, spend concentration, retargeting dependence, overlap or objective mismatch.

Lead-quality reconciliation

Where business data is available, the review follows the funnel beyond a submitted form to contactability, qualification and sale.

Questions for the Meta Ads agency

You receive specific questions about the evidence, tests and next recommendation, written so a good provider can answer them directly.

Why independent matters

We are not auditioning to become your Meta Ads agency.

Most Meta Ads audits are offered by providers that also sell campaign management. Their assessment may be well founded, but they have a financial interest in the decision that follows.

AgencyGuard separates review from implementation. We do not build the campaigns, design creative or take a percentage of your spend. Our role is to give the business owner a clear view and better questions.

AgencyGuard’s position

  • No Facebook Ads management upsell
  • No creative-production package to sell
  • No referral fees from replacement agencies
  • Positive findings are reported as clearly as problems

How it works

From uncertainty to a decision you can defend.

You do not need to diagnose the problem before you join. Start with what you already have and we will tell you what is missing.

Share the report and real outcomes

Start with the agency report, Meta dashboard screenshots and whatever the business knows about lead quality or sales. The gap between them is often the first finding.

Verify the account where needed

Scoped read-only access can be granted through Meta Business Manager when campaign structure, events or account history need direct verification. We never ask for your login.

Ask, correct and measure again

Use the prioritised questions with the provider. The next monthly review shows whether the explanation was supported and whether the agreed changes improved commercial performance.

Questions

What business owners ask about meta ads audit.

Is a Meta Ads audit the same as a Facebook Ads audit?

For most businesses, yes. Meta Ads Manager covers advertising across Facebook, Instagram and related placements. We use both terms because many owners still call the account “Facebook Ads,” while the platform now uses the Meta name.

Can you verify Meta ROAS?

We can assess how the figure was produced, the attribution settings and whether it reconciles with order or CRM evidence you provide. No external reviewer can guarantee that every attributed sale was caused by the ad, so the report states the level and limits of confidence.

Do you review the ads themselves?

Yes, within the channel scope. The review considers which messages and formats receive spend, response decay, frequency and whether the creative promise matches the destination. AgencyGuard does not design replacement creative.

What if my agency says Meta’s numbers are only directional?

That can be a reasonable position. The next question is what other evidence the agency uses to decide budgets and judge tests. A directional metric is useful when its limitations are explicit and it is paired with a reliable commercial measure.
